Morecambe vs Oxford preview - Shrimps pair in line for starts

The manner of Morecambe's second-half fightback at the weekend could force Jim Bentley to shuffle his pack against Oxford.

Trailing 2-0 at half-time, the Shrimps boss brought on midfielder Jamie Devitt and striker Paul Mullin, who engineered a remarkable comeback, with the latter scoring the winner in a 3-2 victory.

The two to make way for Devitt and Mullin - Ryan Williams and Padraig Amond - may therefore be sacrificed.

Defender Ryan Edwards is still sidelined with fractured fingers and the Shrimps will continue to exercise caution with regards his return to action.

Oxford have no fresh injury worries as they look for their first points of the League Two season.

The U's were out of sorts as they lost 2-1 to Mansfield on Saturday and frustrated boss Michael Appleton could ring the changes as he looks to get his side off the mark.

Danny Hylton stepped off the bench to score for the second game in a row and the former Rotherham man may be rewarded with a spot in the starting line-up.

Fellow replacement Alex Jakubiak, who made his United debut in the second half, was praised by Appleton and could be in line for his first start while the likes of Danny Rose, Josh Ruffels and Michael Raynes will also hope to feature.
