Brechin City vs Stenhousemuir preview - Brechin bank on Trouten

Posted Friday, August 15, 2014 by PA

Brechin could be at full-strength when Stenhousemuir visit if midfielder Alan Trouten can shake off a groin injury.

The Glebe Park side is looking to build on a solid start to their season after holding favourites Dunfermline to a goalless draw at East End Park.

Manager Ray McKinnon said: "It was a very pleasing performance and it was certainly a deserved point.

"We now face a Stenhousemuir side that beat us four times last season and we want to put an end to that run.

"They will have similar promotion aims as ourselves so a win would be very welcome."

The Warriors will be without on-loan Hearts goalkeeper Jack Hamilton.

The Edinburgh club recalled Hamilton after Neil Alexander was injured against Rangers last Sunday.

First-choice number one Chris Smith remains sidelined with a knee injury and manager Scott Booth will be forced to start with 19-year-old Dean Shaw.

Skipper Ross McMillan is expected to return after a back strain.

Assistant manager Brown Ferguson said: "We never played that well against Airdrie last week, but we won as we hit them the break.

"We want to show that there is more to our game at Brechin."
