Man City close to Mangala deal

France defender Eliaquim Mangala is close to making a move to Manchester City from Porto.

City boss Manuel Pellegrini revealed following the 3-0 Community Shield loss to Arsenal that Mangala is keen to join the Barclays Premier League champions.

Pellegrini told BT Sport: "Some papers are maybe missing but we continue having interest in the player, he wants to come so we will see what happens in the week."
