Real Madrid honorary president, Alfredo Di Stefano, is in a critical condition in Gregorio Maranon hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Di Stefano, who turned 88 this past Friday (4th July), suffered a cardiac arrest when he was on the street in Madrid and was rushed to hospital.
The Real Madrid honorary president lost consciousness near the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and was taken to the hospital's intensive care unit after receiving pulmonary resuscitation on the street.
Di Stéfano has suffered from heart problems for almost a decade. In December 2005 he suffered an acute myocardial infarction in Valencia and received a quadruple bypass.
In April 2013, Di Stefano was taken to hospital again because of an arrhythmia, but was discharged within a few hours.
'The Blond Arrow' is one of the biggest legends in the history of Real Madrid, where he won 18 trophies, scored 418 goals and played 510 games.
