MANCHESTER UNITED will have to fend off interest from Real Madrid if they are keep Belgium whizz kid Adnan Januzaj at Old Trafford.
AD YA: Carlo Ancelotti wants to bring Manchester United starlet Adnan Januzaj to Real Madrid
According to MARCA, Madrid are keen on a deal for the United starlet and will spend big to bring him to the Bernabeu.
Januzaj, currently preparing to make his Belgium debut in their World Cup opener against Algeria tonight, was a shining light in a miserable 2013/14 campaign for United.
The report claims Madrid will launch a £33m bid for the 19-year-old, with manager Carlo Ancelotti keen to complete a deal following this summer's finals.
RED ALERT: United will be desperate to keep hold of Januzaj
United are unlikely to welcome Madrid's interest having shown no signs that they are willing to sell Januzaj.
Rather than facilitate the exits of members of the United squad, new manager Louis Van Gaal wants to add to his options.
Van Gaal has left executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward in charge of securing his top transfer targets as he fulfils his duties with the Netherlands at the World Cup.
Although they are set to miss out on Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez, Van Gaal is hopeful Woodward can persuade Germany international Bastian Schweinsteiger and Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera to join him at United.
