Coleen Rooney spends wedding anniversary without husband Wayne

Thursday marked a special day for Coleen Rooney and her husband Wayne – the couple's 6th wedding anniversary.

The pair spent the day apart, with Wayne preparing for the World Cup in Rio de Janeiro and his wife in the UK, but 28-year-old Coleen marked the occasion on Twitter.

"6 years ago today I became Mrs Rooney!" wrote Coleen along with a photo of herself and Wayne hugging and laughing. "Through all the good times & some bad....We are stronger than ever."

While Wayne is busy training in Brazil ahead of England's first World Cup game against Italy on Saturday, Coleen was spotted out and about in London this week.

The mum-of-two was seen carrying numerous shopping bags at Euston station on Wednesday after attending the launch of Comfort fabric softener's new fragrances in London.

Coleen is expected to fly out to Brazil to support Wayne later this week although it is unknown whether their two sons Kai, four, and Klay, one, will be joining her.

Wayne and Coleen are childhood sweethearts and began dating at the age of 16, four years after they first met.

The Liverpool-born duo, who now live in the Cheshire village of Prestbury, tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in Portofino, Italy.

Keen music fans, the pair celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary last year by going to see Rihanna in concert at the Manchester Arena.
