Dundee vs Cowdenbeath preview - Irvine out for Dee

Title-chasing Dundee will be without full-back Gary Irvine against Cowdenbeath.

Knee injuries rule out Stephen O'Donnell and Craig Beattie with a groin problem keeping Steven Doris sidelined.

Manager Paul Hartley said: "There is no room for error between now and the end of the season so this is a must-win game. Cowdenbeath will make it tough for us but we have to go out and be positive and get the three points.

"It is a game where no motivation is required for the players, they simply need to go out and win."

Cowdenbeath manager Jimmy Nicholl has still to decide whether striker Greg Stewart will feature at Dens Park after it emerged this week that he would be joining Hartley's side in the summer.

Nat Wedderburn misses out due to a hamstring problem but Thomas O'Brien and Chris Kane are available after shaking off knocks with Darren Brownlie and Kenny Adamson also set to return.

Nicholl said: "I will check how Greg is mentally before kick off as it is an unfortunate situation for him.

"We were poor against Falkirk last week but we have beaten Dundee twice already this season and we can do it a third time."
