Posted Sunday, April 06, 2014 by PA
Brechin claimed their first win in seven matches by beating play-off chasing Ayr 2-1.
Robert Thomson opened the scoring for the hosts with just five minutes on the clock, slamming the ball home from inside the six-yard box.
Ayr almost found an instant reply through Adam Hunter, but his shot was saved by keeper Graeme Smith.
Craig Molloy extended Brechin's lead midway through the second half when his effort found the top corner.
Ayr then gave themselves some hope with 15 minutes remaining, Alan Forest's left-footed strike beating Smith.
