Brechin City vs Stranraer preview - Trouten still out

Posted Saturday, February 22, 2014 by PA

Brechin are still without Alan Trouten for the clash with Stranraer.

The midfielder misses out with a leg injury as City look to bounce back from losing 2-1 to Airdrie last weekend.

Manager Ray McKinnon said: "Stranraer may have had a long trip to Inverness in midweek but I do not think they will have any after effects from it. They played well and the plaudits they received despite losing will have them buoyant for this one.

"Everyone has been expecting their bubble to burst but it has not as they are a good side. We lost last week and played poorly but sometimes that happens so we move on and look to win this one.

Stranraer are again without the injured pair of Chris Aitken and Marc Corcoran as they go in search of a first league win in five games.

Manager Stephen Aitken said: "I was proud of the players for the efforts that they put in against Inverness even though we lost 2-0.

"We showed that we can play decent football but we lost and now we can concentrate fully on securing a play-off place and the best way to do that is to start winning again.

"Glebe Park is always a tough venue and Brechin will have been disappointed to lose last weekend. They will be looking to bounce back against us."
