Danish striker given ‘cinnamon shower’ and ‘red buns’ punishments on his 25th birthday

When a Premier League player celebrates his 25th birthday, he may treat himself to a new sports car, go to a nightclub with a model from Nuts magazine and then grow depressed at the thought of already being halfway through his career. They do things a little differently in Denmark.

Odense Boldklub striker Jeppe Hansen turned 25 on Monday and was treated to a "cinnamon shower" at training. Apparently, it is a Danish tradition for any man who reaches his 25th birthday unmarried to have cinnamon dumped on them, so Hansen was coated in 4kgs (9lbs) of the delicious spice while teammates did their best to relieve him off his shorts.

But the punishment for the day wasn't over. The birthday boy also had to play a game of "røde baller" or "red buns," which consists of the victim dropping trou while others take penalty shots at his derriere. (I once had to play this game as a forfeit, and let's just say that my baller ended up very rode.)
