Cristiano Ronaldo has one foot on the Ballon d'Or

All Cristiano Ronaldo's family will be in Zurich for next Monday's ceremony to award the Ballon d'Or - an accolade the Madrid player, Messi and Ribery are all in the running for.

The Real Madrid player will be surrounded by his whole family, from his mother to his two sisters and brother. It is a way for those who have always been there for the player, throughout his life, to share in this special moment, when he could be chosen as the best player in the world for the second time.

It will be a first for Cristiano Ronaldo to have all the family by his side for a Ballon d'Or ceremony, as only his brother and brother-in-law were present when he won in 2008. On that occasion, in his winner's speech, Cristiano had a message for the rest of the family in Madeira: "You can start the fireworks now" alluding to the celebrations prepared in case he won.

This time round, Cristiano wants his whole family present to share in the excitement of a potential second Ballon d'Or win.
