Queen of South vs Alloa Athletic preview - Young still missing

Posted Friday, January 10, 2014 by PA

Queen of the South will be without Derek Young when they entertain Alloa.

Midfielder Young is still on the sidelines following toe surgery.

Palmerston Park manager Jim McIntyre is looking for his men to repeat their best performance of the season.

He said: "When we played Alloa at Recreation Park we put on a terrific display and secured a great 3-0 win. It would be great to do that at our place.

"Both sides are looking to bounce back after losing last weekend. If we show the clinical side to our game that was missing last weekend against Hamilton then we will be the side that wins."

Alloa manager Paul Hartley has drafted in Ross Caldwell on loan from Hibs.

But a deal for former Hearts and Dundee United striker Rudi Skacel has not been completed yet.

Hartley said: "Rudi has not signed for us and any potential deal is a long way from happening but Ross will feature at some stage at Palmerston.

"I am looking for the players, who have been terrific all season, to bounce back from a blip against Cowdenbeath in our last game when we lost 1-0. I am sure that they will."
