Granada CF vs Getafe preview - Nyom focused on Getafe challenge

Posted Saturday, October 19, 2013 by PA

Granada right-back Allan Nyom is hoping to edge away from the relegation zone with victory over surprise package Getafe on Sunday.

The Andalusian side went into the international break just two points above the bottom three following a heavy 3-0 defeat at Villarreal.

Granada have a chance to make amends when they welcome Getafe to Los Carmenes this weekend.

Nyom knows it will be a tough match against the side fifth in La Liga, but remains confident of securing a positive result

"Getafe is very good team, playing very well," the on-loan defender said. "They will come here to win, so we have to do what we have done so far.

"Villarreal I have forgotten now, we have to turn the page and think of Getafe because it will be a tough game.

"It'll be a tough game, it will be complicated to score because they defend well. We'll have to wait and work together to win the game.

"If we win we, then we will be in the middle of the league table and gives us breathing space.

"If we lose, once again we have to fight to avoid the relegation zone."

Nyom spent the international break with Cameroon, who secured a 0-0 draw in Tunisia in the first leg of their World Cup play-off.

The defender insists he will be fully-fit for a match in which Getafe are aiming for a fourth consecutive victory.

That has only once before been achieved in the club's history - a run midfielder Angel Lafita knows his side will need to be at their best to continue at Granada.

"Confidence is very high and we now face this weekend's match with Granada with the idea of winning and staying in these positions, for how nice it is to be there," he said.

"All games are tough and right now the league is very competitive. Except for two or three, in the rest of the grounds you can win but also be beaten.

"This is how the match with Granada will be disputed, I think that there will be chances for both and who takes their chances will have the better chances of winning."
