Barcelona has officially confirmed the signing of Denis Suárez from Manchester City, a deal that MARCA revealed back on 28th July. The youngster has penned a four-year contract in the Catalan capital and will go straight into the club's reserve squad.
The youngster will have a release clause of €12 million while at Barcelona B, but this will rise to €35 million once he moves up to the first-team squad, the club has confirmed. After learning the ropes at Barcelona B during his first year at the club, Suárez will be promoted to the senior squad in the 2014-15 season.
Barcelona has agreed a deal with Manchester City, with the Catalans set to pay an initial €1.8 million to sign the youngster on a four-year contract.
However, we must also factor in a further €8 million in a series of add-ons, which could push the fee up towards €10m – €9.8m exactly – if the midfielder goes on to make 80 first-team appearances over the next four years. Man City has also inserted a sell-on clause that means the Citizens also stand to pocket 20% of any future transfer fees paid out for Suárez.
