Angel Di Maria: Happy to stay at Real Madrid
Angel Di Maria insists he is happy at Real Madrid and is planning to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
The Argentina international signed a new long-term contract last summer, but has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur as part of Real's bid to sign Gareth Bale.
However, the midfielder is not thinking of leaving Real and has been pleased with his role under new coach Carlo Ancelotti in pre-season.
"I have three years left on my contract and I'm staying," Di Maria was quoted by Marca. "I'm very happy here.
"Also in the coach's selection, I have been playing more frequently in the middle. I'm used to that and I feel comfortable playing there."
Ancelotti also confirmed over the weekend that he is planning to have Di Maria in his squad for the new season, which starts against Real Betis on Sunday.
The Real boss said: "With Di Maria there is no problem and he is going to stay with us."
However, Ancelotti acknowledged that left-back Fabio Coentrao, who has also been linked with a move to Tottenham, is considering his future at Real.
When asked about possible departures, Ancelotti said: "Khedira is staying and Coentrao is thinking about it. The player is the one who has to decide and that is very good."
