Fiorentina: Catania clash pushed back by 24 hours
Fiorentina's season-opening meeting with Catania has been pushed back by 24 hours due to European commitments, the Lega Serie A has confirmed.
La Viola were due to host Sicilian outfit Catania at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday, August 25 at 1945 BST but, due to the Tuscans' Europa League play-off meeting with Swiss club Grasshoppers on the preceding Thursday, the game will now take place on Monday, August 26.
The opening weekend sees newly promoted Hellas Verona welcome AC Milan and Sampdoria tackle reigning champions Juventus in Genoa on Saturday, August 24 before 14 clubs begin their league campaigns on Sunday evening.
