Agent: PSG said no to Verratti release clause

Paris Saint-Germain refused to allow Marco Verratti a release clause in his new contract, according to the player's agent.
The 20-year-old agreed a new deal with the Ligue 1 champion at the end of last week, drawing to an end weeks of speculation linking the midfielder with a move to the likes of Napoli.
Donato Di Campli has now revealed that PSG would not allow a new buyout clause to be inserted into the Italy starlet's new terms, and confirmed that the Partenopei had indeed made an inquiry over the player's availability.
"We asked for a release clause, but PSG said no," he told Radio Toscana.
"Napoli had inquired, but I never talked about a 'monstrous' offer. The renewal was then a logical consequence of the French club not wanting to sell him, putting him at the center of their project."
Verratti joined the Parc des Princes outfit from Pescara last summer, making a total of 39 appearances during his maiden season.
