Harford in Toon with pal Kinnear

MICK HARFORD is set to join up with Joe Kinnear at Newcastle.
The former Wimbledon striker has had talks over a role alongside the Toon’s new director of football.
Harford, 54, worked with Kinnear at the Dons, Luton and Nottingham Forest.
The move comes just a month after Harford was named as Millwall’s first-team coach, having left MK Dons.
Sunderland-born Harford had an eight-month spell as a player at Newcastle in the 1980-81 season.
But his return to the club is unlikely to ease the tension created when Kinnear was parachuted in above boss Alan Pardew by owner Mike Ashley.
The 66-year-old Irishman’s arrival was greeted with anger and astonishment as he was put in charge of all football matters including the club’s transfer affairs.
