Real Madrid given Gündogan priority

lkay Gündogan is the man chosen to replace Xabi Alonso. The Dortmund player is Real's number-one target to take over from Alonso when the Spaniard leaves 'Los Blancos'.
Florentino Pérez's close relationship with the German club has played its part in making the transfer become a reality. However, it seems a deal will not go through until the following year, as Pérez enquired about purchasing the player this summer but his wish was rejected. Dortmund has managed to keep hold of manager Klopp for another year on the agreement that players are not sold and Pérez respects the decision.
Pérez did however manage to get Dortmund to agree to give Real first choice on the midfielder, who caught the club's attention when the two sides met in the Champions League.
The La Liga club estimates the transfer fee to be around €25 million for Gündogan, who could head to the Bernabéu the following season and take over in Alonso's position...but a lot can change in one year.
