Villa has cooled talk of a move away from Barcelona
The 31-year-old has refused to comment on rumours linking him with a move to England
Barcelona striker David Villa has moved to distance himself from speculation regarding his future amid reports he has agreed to join Arsenal.
Rumours in Spain over the weekend have suggested the former Valencia star has struck a deal with the Gunners to bring him to the Emirates next season, having beaten off competition from Tottenham and Liverpool for his signature.
However, Villa refused to be drawn on the subject, stressing he is only concentrating on his international duties with Spain, who jet off to Brazil later this month for the Confederations Cup.
"I have a contract and I have always said that I'm very happy in Barcelona," he said.
"Throughout my career I have always been respectful of my current club. Right now I'm just thinking about doing a good job in Brazil [at the Confederations Cup] and then we will see.
"We will have to analyse many things during the summer, but as of right now I'm not thinking of anything else other than playing football for Spain."
La Roja kick off their Confederations Cup campaign against Uruguay on June 16.
