Sergio Ramos rallies the troops in Mou's absence

Sergio Ramos took charge this Thursday in the dressing room at Valdebebas. In Mourinho's absence, the centre-back took on the role of captain to stop the ongoing quarrels between the players and coaching staff that have been rocking the team in recent days.
Ramos insisted to his teammates the need to call a truce to prepare as best they can for the upcoming Spanish Cup final and avoid the in-fighting that is stopping them from focusing on winning some silverware before wrapping up the season.
The latest controversy is diverting the team's focus in a way that Ramos and many of the Real players consider dangerous before such an important match. That is why the centre-back has sought to tackle the problem early on and take the initiative in ensuring that the whole squad commits to not muddying the waters any more than it already is.
Karanka's press conference after the Málaga game only confirmed the tension between the coaching staff and a number of Real's players. That is why Ramos asked his teammates to close ranks and avoid adding any more smoke to the fire until 17th May.
