Thiago Alcántara spoke earlier to justify Barcelona's season, despite the team's recent elimination from the Champions League, and believes the club has had a satisfactory year: "People are used to seeing us win, but winning consistently is very difficult. This title (La Liga) must be highly valued".
The Barça midfielder went on to speak of his frustrating injury-plagued season: "My continuity has been hit by injury and it has been difficult to get into the team. But I think it's been a good year. I'm a player in the squad who wants to help. I would like to be able to help my teammates next season and win more titles".
When asked about comments made by José Mourinho - who had talked about Barcelona's difficulties without Leo Messi - Thiago thoughtfully replied and believes that people remember facts and not words: "I've been very respectful with everyone. But when people speak about us, of course it affects us. Mourinho gave his opinion. They are just words, not facts. No one will remember what Mourinho said in one year's time".
The central midfielder played down rumours of transfer signings and departures at the club: "Until facts materialise, you don't know if they are true or false. The team is doing well. We just had the disappointment of the Champions League, but we're one step away from winning the league".
