The Italian midfielder says he is still "tingling" after scoring his first Inter goal against their old foes AC Milan which ensured the Nerazzurri a point
Inter midfielder Ezequiel Schelotto has revealed he was “delighted” to score against rivals AC Milan to claim a 1-1 draw at San Siro.
Schelotto, who only signed for Inter from Atalanta during the January transfer window, was the surprise hero during Sunday night’s derby encounter as the substitute cancelled out Stephan El Shaarawy's opener.
The 23-year-old told Inter Channel: "I wasn't expecting to score in the derby. I couldn't get to sleep last night! It happened to me and obviously I'm delighted.
"It was exciting enough just to set foot on the pitch, but then to score three minutes after coming on was the icing on the cake.”
After outshining Milan’s multi-million Euro signing Mario Balotelli at San Siro, Schelotto quickly turned his thoughts towards Inter’s next game against Catania.
"It's a key match in terms of the Champions League spots," he continued.
"They've just won, whereas we're going there after an important draw with AC Milan.
"We know we'll be up against an excellent Catania side but we've got what it takes to do well there. We want the three points, they're fundamental."
Inter sit fifth in the table, one point behind third-placed Milan.
