Forfar came back from 2-0 down to beat play-off rivals East Fife 3-2 at Station Park in a thrilling encounter.

Just six minutes in, Craig Johnstone put the visitors ahead after firing in an 18-yard shot to the bottom-left corner

of Jack Hamilton's goal.

Paul Willis extended East Fife's lead when he headed in after 20 minutes after connecting with a cross from David Muir.

But Forfar rallied after Darren McCormack was dismissed for a professional foul on Dale Hilson on the half-hour mark. Iain Campbell

scored the resulting penalty, blistering his left-footed shot straight into the bottom-right hand corner.

Minutes later, Scott Durie was booked for unsporting behaviour and Forfar's Hilson was put into the book for dissent.

After the break, Forfar midfielder Willie Robertson was replaced by Gavin Malin, and then, in the space of two minutes, Forfar took the lead. Danny Denholm hit home on 56 minutes and Gavin Swankie's left-footed strike hit the top left-hand corner of the net to make it 3-2.

East Fife substituted Collin Samuel with Gareth Wardlaw and Robert Sloan with Liam Gormley, but they could not find an equaliser.
