The youngster has spoken about his first appearance in the Blaugrana first team and how hard he has worked to get where he is today
Carles Planas struggled to hide his delight after making his Barcelona debut against Alaves on Wednesday.
The full-back replaced Adriano with 15 minutes remaining of the Copa del Rey clash, and for a player who has progressed up the ranks from La Masia, the evening was all the more special.
"No words can describe making your debut here," he explained to the club website.
"The feeling that you get when you finally play a game at the club where you have been since you were a child, fighting and working hard to play in the first team, I cannot describe it. I have given everything for this moment."
Despite his lack of experience, the 21-year old believes he slotted into the senior side with ease.
"I felt very comfortable in the side, it is the position where I am used to playing and the quality of players around me made a big difference," he added.
"The whole squad knows the level of performance we have to sustain and I am well aware that I need to continue to work hard to stay here."
