Barcelona's Adriano set to miss three weeks

Barcelona defender Adriano has been ruled out for three weeks after sustaining an injury in the Blaugrana's 3-1 win over Celta Vigo.

The 28-year-old was replaced by Dani Alves after just 38 minutes of action at Camp Nou, and the club have now confirmed he will be sidelined for most of November after suffering a muscle tear to his right adductor.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Adriano Correia sustained a tear in the adductor of his right thigh in tonight’s match against Celta. He’ll be out of action for three weeks, according to the club’s medical services."

Prior to his substitution, Adriano had given his side the lead after 21 minutes against Celta, as Tito Vilanova's men went on to maintain their unbeaten record in La Liga this season.

The former Sevilla man will now likely miss Barcelona's next three Liga clashes against Mallorca, Zaragoza and Levante, as well as the two Champions League fixtures away to Celtic and Spartak Moscow.
