Airdrie United vs Hamilton FC preview - No Lilley for Airdrie
Posted Saturday, October 06, 2012 by PA
Airdrie will be without defender David Lilley against visitors Hamilton following his red card last weekend against Morton.
The Diamonds' resources are being stretched as Cameron MacDonald, Scott Sally, Sean Lynch and John Boyle have been ruled out with injuries and Jack Boyle needs a fitness test.
Manager Jimmy Boyle said: "We have gone into games before with weakened teams and won so I am hoping for the same again.
" This would be a great game for us to pick up three points in and end the disappointing run that we have been on of five games without a win.
"However, Hamilton will want to win and start climbing away from the foot of the table just as much as we do."
Hamilton are again without strikers Jon McShane and Kieran Miller due to knee injuries as they look to pick up their first win of the season.
Manager Billy Reid is looking for an improved performance from his side after they went down 3-0 to Dunfermline last weekend.
He said: "We started okay but then the second half was very disappointing. We had been very good against St Mirren in the midweek before and perhaps that caught up with us.
"We do not have that as a factor now so hopefully we can bounce back. We also want to make up for a Ramsdens Cup defeat from Airdrie at the start of the season that was a bit smash and grab."
