CRUCIAL TIME ... Walcott's future is in limbo
ARSENE WENGER wants Theo Walcott to sign a new deal within two months.
Walcott has yet to commit to Arsenal and will be a free agent next summer, meaning he can talk to clubs in January.
Boss Wenger said: “The longer this situation lasts the more difficult it becomes. I still hope to sign him and the next two months are vital.”
The England winger, who has not started a game since contract talks broke down, rejected an Arsenal offer of £75,000 a week.
Wenger could even consider selling Walcott — wanted by Chelsea and Liverpool — in the next transfer window.
Wenger admitted: “It will depend on the needs of the team and the club.
“We can afford to go to the end of the contract if needed.
“Let’s hope we can find a solution over the next two months.
“No player is happy when he doesn’t play.”
Wenger will once again leave Walcott, 23, on the bench for the trip to champions Manchester City tomorrow.
