Napoli vs Fiorentina preview - El Kaddouri aims to impress

I have a say

New Napoli signing Omar El Kaddouri hopes he can follow in the footsteps of Marek Hamsik by winning over the club's fans, starting with Sunday's meeting with Fiorentina.

The 22-year-old, who featured for Morocco at the Olympics, has moved to Stadio San Paolo as part of a co-ownership deal with Brescia.

He could be in line to make his debut when La Viola visit Naples on Sunday, and El Kaddouri hopes he can be as much of a success as Hamsik, who himself made the move from Brescia in 2007.

"So far I have played both as wing-half and as second forward," El Kaddouri told the club website.

"Let's just say that I really like creating but also helping my team-mates.

"My idol as a child was Zinedine Zidane, he is a model for me. But I'd like to be able to retrace the path of Marek Hamsik who came here from Brescia like me."

Napoli started their campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory at Palermo last weekend.

And El Kaddouri admits he has been impressed by what he has seen so far, and hopes for more of the same on Sunday.

"I followed the match and I saw a convincing success.

"To win at Palermo is not easy and I am sure that very few teams will succeed there this year.

"Now we must continue to play well. The team is full of great talent but you have to take one game at a time to improve on last year."
