Trouten gets green light

Brechin will include summer signing Alan Trouten against visitors Alloa.

Trouten has been struggling with a knee injury but he has been given the all clear to start against the Wasps.

Manager Jim Weir is set to bring in a trialist with SPL experience to play in place of defender Gerry McLaughlan, who is a major doubt.

"It has been great to win our two home games and if we could make it three it would put us in a much better place compared to where we were a year ago," said Weir.

"Alloa will be tough opponents as they still have a huge amount of confidence after winning the Third Division."

Alloa welcome back striker David Cox for the trip.

Former Annan man Cox is over the effects of a virus that forced him to miss the Wasps' last two games.

Cox's return gives manager Paul Hartley a full squad to choose from with the Recreation Park boss not looking to make wholesale changes, despite losing a two-goal lead to go down 3-2 against Arbroath last Saturday.

Hartley said: "I watched the game back and for 70 minutes we played some really good stuff. We went off the rails for 10 and were severely punished.

"Glebe Park will be a tough ground to go to but if we play to the standard we did for the vast majority of the game last week then we will take something."
