Two goals from Ryan Thomson helped Dunfermline to a 4-0 demolition of fellow Irn Bru First Division new boys Cowdenbeath.
Andrew Barrowman and Josh Falkingham also struck for the relegated Premier Division side at Central Park against their promoted hosts.
Striker Barrowman showed his predatory instinct to edge the Pars ahead on the stroke of half-time as he netted from close range to follow up his goal at Forfar in the Ramsdens Cup last time out.
Dunfermline doubled their advantage four minutes after the restart when midfielder Thomson met Alex Whittle's delivery from the right to nod past Thomas Flynn.
Thomson was again on the scoresheet 11 minutes from time as he converted Falkingham's pass into the top corner from close range before Falkingham completed the rout with a stunning strike from 25 yards.
