Liverpool face a major battle to sign Juan Manuel Vargas after the talented winger revealed he is happy to stay at Fiorentina.
Vargas, 28, has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield throughout the summer and was expected to leave the Italian club.
The Peru international failed to show his best form last season and Liverpool's new boss Brendan Rodgers was hoping to resurrect his career and clinch his signature.
But Vargas has revealed that he would be happy to remain at Fiorentina and is not sure if he will be making a big move during the summer.
Vargas said: "I am training with Fiorentina and hope to stay here. I don't know what my future will be."
