Andrea Stramaccioni is remaining undaunted by Inter's trip to Hajduk Split in his Europa League bow on Thursday, but admits that the Croatian side have a slight advantage due to their passionate home fans.
The Nerazzurri finished last season in sixth place in Serie A, forcing them take part in the third qualifying round of the second-tier European competition.
"Admittedly, August 2 is a strange date for an Italian side to play an official match," the 36-year-old noted at a press conference.
"Playing in their stadium, where they have a very passionate crowd, will be a very difficult task. They will have the upper hand in that aspect.
"We will be looking to put in the right exertions since we have the whole season ahead of us, but this is no excuse not to play without character. With great respect for Hajduk, we want to win this encounter."
Serie A's other Europa League representatives this season are Lazio and Napoli.
