Ibrahimovic to debut for Paris Saint-Germain against D.C. United on Sunday

Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will make his first appearance for the club in Sunday's friendly against D.C. United.

The Sweden international completed last week a reported €23 million (£18m) transfer to the Parc des Princes, joining the club together with former AC Milan team-mate Thiago Silva.

He joined the rest of the team on their pre-season tour of the United States on Tuesday, and it has now been confirmed that he will be given the nod to play against the MLS side on Sunday in Washington D.C..

"He will play for about 30 minutes. He will start the match," Ancelotti said according to AFP.

"He's in good shape and hasn't had any problems training. He was worked hard in the first few days, and is a little tired, but he arrived in good shape.

"He is very professional and is in good spirits. He will start the match with [Kevin] Gameiro and [Jeremy] Menez either side of him."

Meanwhile, Ancelotti praised the club's 'fantastic' work in the transfer market, saying: "It is very hard to sign players as talented as Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Marco Verratti.

"This is a quality squad. I am truly satisfied to have these players. Ibra has quality, character, experience and personality. He has all the ingredients to become a key player of this team.

"He will also help his team-mates improve the quality of our game."

The 30-year-old will be wearing PSG's No.18 shirt, though the French capital club have not yet released the final list of squad numbers for the 2012-13 campaign.
