Pal tells John Terry racism trial: We should not be herec
QPR star ... Anton Ferdinand

“I make him out either saying ‘Bridge’ or ‘black’ followed by ****. I don’t hear it but I’m looking at him. JT mentioned something to me like, ‘Anton called me a racist’.”

After the game Cole told Ferdinand he was “out of order” and saw Terry ask him: “Did you think I called you a black ****?”

Both team mates asked if he thought Terry was being racist and Cole said Ferdinand replied: “No, no, it’s cool.”

Prosecutor Duncan Penny asked Cole if he came from a deaf family or could lip-read.

He said: “You can’t help us with what Terry said a car-length away but you can with what Anton said 25 yards away by reading his lips.”

Cole said: “I did not hear anything.”

Ex-Chelsea star Ray Wilkins who commentated on the game said Terry, 31, had faced “unmerciful criticism” for years but he had never seen him react.

Ex-manager Jose Mourinho and 19 Chelsea stars gave statements saying they did not believe Terry is a racist.
