Capello reluctant to work in Italy again

Fabio Capello has revealed that he is uninterested in working in Italy again, admitting that he feels he has already "done enough" coaching in his homeland.

The 65-year-old was linked with Inter immediately after resigning as England boss in February but nothing came of the speculation and the former AC Milan coach is still looking for a new job.

However, Capello explained that he is in no rush to find work, claiming that he has already turned down several offers.

"I received some proposals but they did not interest me and I have not accepted any," he told reporters in Milan on Thursday.

"If something exciting and interesting comes along, I could accept, but I have already done enough in Italy."

Quizzed on his nation's hopes of winning Euro 2012 this summer, Capello admitted that the Scommessopoli match-fixing scandal and injuries to key personnel will not have done the Azzurri any favours at all.

However, he believes that they might benefit from Wednesday's visit to Auschwitz, arguing that the trip would have put everything in perspective for a number of players.

"Unfortunately, Italy has had injuries and problems that they were certainly not expecting, and this has not helped, above all because their first game is against Spain, who I believe are the favourites," Capello mused.

"However, I've seen that the Azzurri have found a serenity with their visit to Auschwitz. It is a place that brings one back down to earth."

Italy's tournament opener against reigning champions Spain kicks off at 18:00CET on June 10 in Gdansk.
