Dani Alves hopes to reinstate himself in the Barcelona first-team following Pep Guardiola's exit - quashing any hopes Manchester City had of signing him.
The right-back lost his place in the Catalan side in the final few games of Guardiola's tenure, including the Champions League semi-final second-leg draw with Chelsea which cost Barca their place in the final.
The Brazilian defender remains full of praise for Guardiola and he is keen to remain at Barcelona and shun interest from the Premier League.
"Pep won the affection and respect of the people. People are grateful to someone who has given so much joy," Alves said.
"I am a person trying to do my job the best I can and I respect the decisions of the coach. There will never be a problem with me if I play or not.
"I intend to be here next year, that's why I renewed my contract. If I had not been comfortable then I would not have done it."
