Italy forward Borini tears muscle; out 2-3 weeks

Newly called up Italy forward Fabio Borini is out for two to three weeks after tearing a muscle in his left leg while playing for Roma at the weekend.
The 20-year-old Borini has scored nine goals for Roma this season, most of them coming in the past three months.
Last month, Borini made his Italy debut in a 1-0 friendly loss to the United States.
Italy coach Cesare Prandelli may include Borini in his 23-man squad for the European Championship—since starting forwards Antonio Cassano and Giuseppe Rossi are working their way back from long-term health problems.
Cassano is recovering from minor heart surgery, while Rossi had knee surgery in October.
Borini’s injury occurred in a 2-1 loss to AC Milan on Saturday.
