IN COMMAND ... Alex Ferguson
ALEX FERGUSON says he has a team of fighters who will not let go of their title.
Manchester United could move three points clear at the top of the Premier League tonight by beating Fulham.
And after a season spent battling injuries and continually chasing rivals City, United will suddenly be in the driving seat.
Boss Fergie said: "I have to congratulate the players on achieving the position we're in because of the injuries we've had. They've shown resilience and we're in the position we are now because of that.
"I was hoping City would drop something but I also knew we really had to perform well to take advantage.
"We went down to London to play Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea.
"We should have beaten Chelsea but if you take seven points from nine all in a short space of time, then it's a job well done."
Whatever happens this season, Ferguson is convinced United and City will be fighting for silverware for years.
He added: "What we've got to get used to, and United and City fans too, is there's going to be big games involving us — semi-finals, finals, whatever — for a decade.
"Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs can also stabilise themselves and have great teams."
