Matthew late strike denied Queen of the South a much-needed win as Dundee scraped a 1-1 draw at Palmerston Park.

The first half was littered with long-range efforts that didn't threaten the goal, with Dundee's Steven Milne coming closest with a rising shot that flew over.

But Sam Parkin put the home side ahead on the stroke of half-time with a neatly converted strike from Nicky Clark's cross to the near post.

Dundee rarely threatened in response as Queen of the South looked to pull away from the bottom two in the Scottish First Division.

But with two minutes remaining Jake Hyde headed into the path of Lockwood, who lashed home left-footed to salvage The Dee a point.
