I have a say

Michael Moffat climbed off the bench to rescue a point for Ayr in a 1-1 draw against Queen of the South in a battle of the bottom two.

The visitors spurned an early chance to take the lead when Sam Parkin headed straight at Kevin Cuthbert from close range.

United took it as a wake-up call and created a chance of their own in the 15th minute but Mark Roberts fired narrowly wide.

Stephen Simmons put the Doonhamers ahead with 14 minutes left, steering home after Scott McLaughlin's shot had been saved.

But there was a final twist in the tale and rock-bottom Ayr hit back when Moffat, who had only been introduced five minutes earlier, found the back of the net from 12 yards after good work by Roberts.
