Stirling scored twice in the final 11 minutes to take a point from Forfar in a 2-2 draw.
The hosts drew first blood when teenage striker Bradley Coyne drilled the ball into the bottom corner in the 20th minute - his first goal for the club.
Coyne was on target again on the hour mark when he supplied the finishing touch to Dale Hilson's cross from close range.
Forfar appeared to be heading for their third win in a row but the visitors pulled one goal back in the 79th minute when substitute Daly McSorley swept in Scott Davidson's cross.
And the Second Division's bottom side ensured they remain just two points behind their opponents after Davidson popped up to curl in an 88th-minute equaliser.
