Talk of NUFC bid for Andy Carroll dismissed

NEWCASTLE UNITED will not be making a move for Andy Carroll on loan - despite reports today linking him with a loan move back to St James' Park.
Sources at United have dismissed talk of any possible move for Carroll during the January window despite the player struggling to hit the heights he enjoyed at Newcastle since his move to Liverpool last January.
United have already made it clear they are not in the market for a striker and will focus on defensive talks.
Pardew would not be pressed on transfer issues today at his Press conference and said: "We're keeping cards close to our chest in the window, it'll be difficult for anybody going out and agreeing a price with my board.
"I apologise to the media now we won't be saying much in the window about the transfers"
