Juventus seek damages from federation

Juventus have filed a claim in a Lazio court asking for damages against the Italian football federation and Inter Milan for unfair treatment in 2006.

Juventus were stripped of their Serie A title and relegated to Serie B in the 2006 match-fixing scandal known as Calciopoli.

A statement released by the club on Monday says "Juventus intends to prove unfair treatment and illegal behavior, thus obtaining compensation for the severe damages which are conservatively valued at several hundreds of millions of euros."

The scandal also resulted in point penalties for several other Serie A clubs and lengthy bans for club and refereeing officials.

Former Juventus executive Luciano Moggi was sentenced to five years and four months in prison by a Naples court for his role in Calciopoli.
