Jose Mourinho: “We have now finished a very difficult month”

The Real Madrid boss claims that the 1-0 win against Real Sociedad came due to the mental strength of the players. Mourinho believes that his men used their brains more than their physical body strength, as they managed to climb at the top of the Spanish La Liga points table.

Madrid picked up a narrow away win against Real Sociedad. Los Blancos took an early lead in the game but they found it hard to double it.

The only goal of the game was scored by the Argentinean star Gonzalo Higuain. The Real Madrid star striker has been in brilliant form lately, and he managed to score another goal during a tough away opponent like Real Sociedad.

Madrid are in tremendous goal scoring form. In their past five games, the Spanish La Liga giants have scored 21 goals. However, Mourinho thinks that this narrow win was the toughest of the last five fixtures.

The former Inter Milan coach said:

"In the last few minutes, we managed to play with fatigue.”

Real Madrid a lot of tough fixtures during the month of October and Mourinho claims that his side managed to avoid the hard times.

Madrid had to face two tough oppositions in the past few weeks. The Spanish La Liga giants, Villarreal and the new force in La Liga, Malaga, were both beaten by Jose Mourinho’s men.

This season, Madrid’s performances have been extraordinary. They are currently at the top of the table as Levante could not win their fixture on the weekend.

While talking about physical fitness during the Real Sociedad game, Mourinho said:

“We lost physical freshness in the second half but we won the game with our mind which helped us control the game.”

Mourinho also talked about the four changes he made in the team. The Portuguese tactician said:

"I changed four players and I am pleased by the response of my team.”

Mourinho then told the press how difficult the month has been for his side. He said:

“We have now finished a very difficult month and a very difficult week in which we also beat Malaga and Villarreal."

Real Madrid is now going to be involved in UEFA Champions League action. The Spanish Giants will be facing Lyon on Wednesday.
