Alex Chamberlain paid back a big chunk of his £15m transfer fee for Arsenal last night.
The 18-year-old capped an impressive display in his first start for the Gunners with a stunning 30-yarder after Shrewsbury had taken a shock lead through James Collins.
Kieran Gibbs equalised before Yossi Benayoun hit his first goal for the club to seal a comfortable 3-1 win after Saturday’s shocker at Blackburn – and give boss Arsene Wenger a lift.
Manchester United cruised through 3-0 at Leeds thanks to first-half goals from Michael Owen (two) and Ryan Giggs.
Wolves booked their place in the next round with a 5-0 drubbing of Championship outfit Millwall.
