England striker in sex attack quiz

ENGLAND striker Carlton Cole is to be quizzed by cops as a witness over an alleged sexual assault in his hotel room.

A 22-year-old student claims she suffered an appalling attack by one of the footballer's group while he and others slept after a party.

She was examined by specially-trained cops and investigating officers with the Met's specialist Sapphire unit are now looking at CCTV footage.

There is no suggestion the West Ham star committed any criminal offence.Cole, 27, had splashed out £250 for a room at the plush W Hotel in London's Leicester Square last Saturday.

A source said: "It was a night on the town with several friends and Cole invited them back for late-night drinks. Everyone crashed out and then something obviously happened. When everyone woke, she was extremely upset."
