Catania vs Palermo preview - Simone demands a cauldron-like atmosphere

Catania coach Diego Simone has called on his side's fans to create an intimidating atmosphere against Palermo in the Sicilian showdown at the Angelo Massimino stadium.
With no wins on the road in 13 months, Simeone's side has had to rely on results at home to remain above the drop zone.
Catania have won their last four games at home and are four points clear of the bottom three with eight rounds remaining.
"It's going to be a crucial game for us," Simeone said. "With the support of our fans we can beat Palermo.
"It will be difficult as Palermo have a very strong team.
"We will need to be at our best and have the help and support of the crowd because that will count.
"Everyone we see in the streets ask us to beat Palermo and my players are very enthusiastic and ready to fight from start to finish against Palermo."
Palermo go into the match on the back of a 1-0 triumph over Serie A leaders AC Milan.
The result ended a five-match losing streak and marked Serse Cosmi's first win since replacing Delio Rossi at the helm last month.
"We showed a lot of improvement against Milan," Cosmi said. "The team showed character and determination.
"Our defence also improved drastically compared to our previous games.
"I am confident that we will do well in the derby.
"We all know how important the derby is for the club, our fans and the city."
Palermo are eighth in the standings, seven points behind Roma, who hold the last European qualifying spot.
