7M Sports > Others > Reaction after Belgium beat Egypt in a friendly international
-
SOUNDBITE (English): Roberto Martinez, Belgium manager:
(On room for improvements)
"I think we did some very good things. We did some other really poor things, still. I think it's the process that we are in. We need to carry on working, carry on developing. But what I appreciate is the togetherness of the group, the unselfish aspects of our performances. Everyone is prepared to cover each other. Everyone is prepared to work hard to each other. And it's no coincidence that today we were not perfect defensively, but we kept a clean sheet just because of that. And I think that's the main ingredient. If we can go to the World Cup feeling that we are a team, we would have achieved what we wanted from preparation."
SOUNDBITE (Spanish): Hector Cuper, Egypt manager:
(On playing without Egypt's star striker Mohamed Salah)
"Well, those are the forwards we have. And I'm pleased with their work. If we compare tonight's match with the one against Colombia, I believe we played better tonight. We've created some opportunities to score and we played. If we look exclusively to the result, it was obviously extremely negative. But we showed offensive power, we created good chances. Now we have to judge what's possible to do from now to the World Cup kick-off. These are our forwards, I believe that Marwan (Mohsen) is playing very well. Kahraba can easily play that role, too. The same goes for (Amr) Warda. So I'm pleased with our performance. I'm not pleased with the result."
