Fans headed to the Deodoro Stadium on Sunday (7th August), for the second day of competition in the women's rugby sevens at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Draped in the colours of their respective nations, fans gathered outside the Deodoro Stadium in Rio, as the Rugby Sevens competition entered its second day.
Some of the rugby matches have been sparsely attended and those outside the stadium discussed the spectator numbers and the atmosphere in Brazil:
SOUNDBITE: (English) Nikki Diggs, USA fan from California (on the number of spectators at the Deodoro Stadium):
"I'm a bit bummed, to be honest, just because, especially these women have worked really hard to get here. It's their first Olympics, so it's a bit of a bummer, but I think a lot of people were scared off and they shouldn't have been because everything has been really great."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Lori Cherry, Mother of Australia player Emma Cherry:
"The atmosphere was really good, there was lots of cheering, lots of, yeah, singing, dancing, so it was great."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Cara Zaremski, Australia fan:
"No, we're having great fun. I mean the Brazilians are having an absolute party in there and they're having so much fun, so we are as well and we're enjoying every moment."
More than one million tickets for events at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games remain unsold, a spokesman for the Games' organising committee admitted on Sunday.
